Digital Learning Centers LLC., dba REMI School of Real Estate LLC. (School #7194) is approved by the Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC) to offer continuing education (CE) and salesperson pre-licensing courses and must periodically renew its approval per GREC’s routine renewal guidelines.
Course Format
REMI offers a purely online, self-study format; students can study online 24/7 on their website, REMITEAM.COM. REMI does not offer live or in-person courses at the time of this writing.
Courses and Credit Hours
The courses and the number of credits hours approved for each course are specified in the online catalog along with the course credit type (CE vs. prelicensing credit). In addition to CE, REMI offers the salesperson prelicensing course. These courses are distinct from post-licensing or the community assoc. manager prelicensing courses.
Instructor
The name and the biographical information about our instructor(s) are found in course materials and on the publicly accessible pages of our website. Course content questions are processed by the instructors and qualified staff of REMI School.
Accessing and Completing Courses
Access to a course is immediate upon purchase. Courses will be available in your account on the ‘My Courses’ page.
Attendance and Honor Code
Students must personally complete all required instructional modules and other course pre-requisites such as surveys or quizzes to demonstrate mastery and receive credit for the course. Items marked ‘optional’ are not required for credit. Students will be asked to sign a GREC-required certification statement indicating they completed the required course modules in their entirety without unauthorized aid.
Grading and Certification
GREC requires some courses to have quizzes or exams. In cases where there is a passing score requirement, it will be specified in the quiz/course materials. Unless otherwise specified, any course quizzes or exams are automatically graded and saved to your account. Students must personally complete all required assignments, instructional modules, surveys, and certification statements to receive credit for the course or before attending any required in-class instruction. Currently, REMI does not offer in-class (in-person) instruction.
Prelicensing students: GREC requires the final exam for prelicensing courses be proctored. Midterms and chapter quizzes are not proctored. REMI will provide the specifics about registering with a particular, pre-selected online proctor service once a student has completed the required course presentations, quizzes, and pre-requisites. Upon completion of the prerequisites, students will be responsible for following instructions for scheduling with REMI’s designated proctor service to take the course’s final exam and, eventually, the real estate licensing exam. The proctor for the real estate licensing exam itself is selected by GREC and may or may not be the same proctor used for the REMI course final exam.
CE Students: GREC does not allow students to receive credit for any course that he or she has taken within the previous calendar year.
Submitting Course Completions to GREC
REMI will submit course completions to GREC directly. Students are responsible for verifying that the credit is showing up correctly in their official State record. If anything is missing or askew, it is the student’s sole responsibility to notify REMI immediately, well ahead of deadlines.
Candidates for Licensure Who Have Convictions or Disciplinary Action
A student’s ability to become licensed in real estate may be impacted by having convictions or disciplinary actions. Per Georgia State Rule 520-1-.04(11) copied below, students can receive a preliminary decision for licensure ahead of completing the pre-licensing course.
“(520-1-.04(11) Preliminary Decisions for Candidates for Licensure Having Convictions or Disciplinary Actions. The Official Code of Georgia Annotated Section 43-40-15 provides in part that the Commission may deny a license to an applicant who has a prior criminal conviction(s) or a disciplinary action(s) imposed by any occupational licensing body. An applicant for licensure is a person who has met all experience, education, and examination requirements for the license sought. Because of the time and expense involved in becoming an applicant for licensure, the Commission affords an individual who has not yet become an applicant the opportunity to request that the Commission make a preliminary decision on the conviction(s) or the prior disciplinary action(s) before the individual takes the required education and examination for license. The purpose of a preliminary decision is merely to provide advisory guidance. Preliminary decisions are not binding. However, the Commission may elect to allow a favorable preliminary decision to become its final decision without further investigation or hearing when the individual becomes an applicant for licensure.
(a) Required Information. An individual seeking a preliminary decision must submit to the Commission a certified copy of any indictment and conviction or a disciplinary action imposed by another licensing regulatory authority. An individual seeking a preliminary decision may also provide the Commission with any additional information that the individual believes may assist the Commission in rendering a preliminary decision.
(b) Adverse Preliminary Decisions. A preliminary decision by the Commission that is unfavorable to the individual shall not prevent the individual from becoming an applicant for licensure by successfully completing all education, experience, and examination requirements for the license. Whenever the Commission denies a license based on a prior conviction or prior disciplinary action, it must provide the applicant the opportunity for notice and a hearing.”
